DIENNE MANOUCHE - Gypsy Bop
Dario Napoli (Dienne Manouche) comes out with his first solo CD GYPSY BOP, together with Maurizio Bozzi. The project is inspired both by Gypsy guitar legend Django Reinhardt as well as bebop icon, Charlie Parker. With the record, Dario attempts a fusion of the older musical tradition of the Manouche (Gypsy tribe of which Django Reinhardt was part of) and the style of jazz introduced in the 50s known as bebop. It also includes 2 original compositions.
EXCHANGE GYPSY - Mauro Albert & Dario Napoli
Guitarists Dario Napoli and Mauro Albert, respectively from Italy and Brasil, blend their unique musical backgrounds through the language and tradition of Django Reinhardt, for an explosion of acoustic dialogue. The CD is recorded live, totally organically, with no overdubs or other studio tricks and effects and there are standards from the tradition of Django Reinhardt, as well as original compositions.

Although sinti guitarist Django Reinhardt is the main inspiration behind the album, in “My Favorite Spot”, Dario Napoli looks to include more contemporary influences in his version of gypsy swing, introducing elements of more modern musical styles such as bebop, funk and modern jazz.
